Welcome to the Thanksgiving edition of our Fri-YAY Shout Outs! This week we feature three schools who came up with creative ways to celebrate their teachers and staff. * Athens Drive Magnet Middle School * Moore Square Magnet Middle School * Swift Creek Elementary School Check out these amazing stories! Athens Drive Magnet Middle SchoolWe were FINALLY able to hold a (Safe!) Hospitality Event for our Amazing Teachers & Staff! We held a Brown Bag Lunch, providing the brown lunch bags and tables of packaged single-serving lunchtime favorites so everyone could choose the items for their bag! Parents donated food and drinks, as well as made posters thanking our teachers & staff for all they do for our students and our school. Moore Square Magnet Middle SchoolOur PTSA is trying to encourage engagement and appreciation of our teachers and staff and show how thankful we are for them. We provided our teachers with a candy apple from vendor Kandy Apples by K. They were a vendor at our Moore Square a First Friday’s and are a small woman owned and black owned business. It was a nod to our Community First Friday events that we had in the past as well as supporting our teachers. Swift Creek Elementary SchoolThe PTA asked parents to donate store bought pies -- one for each member of our staff. Then at their Sweet as Pie event on the Friday before Thanksgiving each staff member (including office staff, custodians) were able to take home a delicious pie!
