FINANCEYour PTA Budget Does your budget reflect the mission of the PTA? The PTA's mission is to make every child’s potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children. A budget does not dictate what your PTA must do. It simply represents what your PTA intends to do. In other words, the goal of the PTA is not to raise money and then find programs to support. The goal should be to create programs that are in alignment with the mission of your PTA and then raise money to support those programs. The budget is also only an estimate of the planned expenditures for the year. Should your PTA incur additional expenses or a change in an allocated expenditure, the budget may be amended by a vote of the membership at any regular meeting, or at a special meeting called for that purpose. All expenditures of your PTA must be consistent with the approved budget and based on actual fund availability.
